Countdown: Our Top 5 Hay Forks

hay fork

A Hay Fork might seem like a simple attachment at first glance — just a basic frame with a few tines — but that’s exactly why quality matters. With no moving parts or complex mechanisms, a well-built hay fork should be a no-fuss, reliable tool that just gets the job done.

With over 25 years designing and manufacturing attachments for the agricultural industry, we have the experience and knowledge of what makes a great hay fork.

Kerfab’s design focuses on strength, durability, and ease of use, so you can trust it to handle heavy bales day in and day out without bending, breaking, or needing constant attention. It’s the kind of attachment you don’t have to think about — and that’s the whole point.

Here is a countdown of our top 5 hay forks:

round bale fork
5. Double Round Hay Fork

The double round bale fork is designed to carry two 4′, 5′ or 6′ round bales side by side, and has Conus II high tensile hay tines. It can be used to spike into the flat side of a round bale or tines can slide underneath, allowing it to be cradled.

Pros: Makes quick work of bale collection time during hay season.

Cons: Not ideal for single round or square bales as the tine centres don’t suit this application.

4. Round Hay Fork

The Round Hay Fork can be used to pierce the bale (flat side) or you can simply slide the tines under the bale to support it, keeping the bale firmly in place. This ensures the bale cannot rotate during transport or stacking

Pros: Excellent vision and easy to use when handling single round bales.

Cons: Cannot handle square bales and is limited to round bale handling only.

3. Standard Square Hay Fork

The standard square bale fork is capable of safely handling individual or multiple bales. It easily transports round or square bales for stacking in sheds or hay stockpiles. It has a standard back frame height of 1.5 metres

Pros: Great for handling multiple bales (round or square) on a loader.

Cons: Cannot handle more than two square bales without an adjustable back frame.

2. Large Square Hay Fork

Similar to the standard square bale fork, the large style bale fork allows for the safe handling of individual or multiple bales. It can transport both round and square bales, and is used for stacking in sheds or hay stockpiles. Adjustable back frames are available, extending the height of your frame up to 2.7 meters.

Pros: Ideal for multiple bale handling.

Cons: Height of the back frame can limit its application in low roofed-sheds.

Tuskan Bale Clamp
1. Tuskan Bale Clamp

enables you to clamp, lift and turn the bale on its side – so you can cut the hay bale strings well away from the mixer. You can then re-clamp and drop the bale into the mixer saving you time, but most importantly – guaranteeing your safety..

Pros: Its versatility of being used as a conventional hay fork as well as a grab makes it an excellent tool for any farm.

Cons: Can only handle up to 2 bales.
